Dating back to the 19th century, the luxurious hotel El Djazair (Ex. Saint George) enjoys a convenient situation in Algiers. It is close to the President of Algeria as well as to the US and the UK embassies. Attractions such as the People's Palace, the Bardo National Museum, the National Museum of Antiquities and Islamic Arts as well as the Cathedral of Sacré-Coeur are within walking distance. The historic hotel has a Moorish style architecture and welcomes guests in an opulent ambience. The elegantly appointed rooms feature climate control, complimentary WIFI, satellite plasma-TV, premium bedding and a rainfall shower. Other excellent services and amenities include an outdoor pool surrounded by a terrace with sun loungers, a gym, sauna and Turkish bath. There are various exquisite restaurants specialised in Algerian and French cuisine, and guests can unwind having a drink at the bar. A wonderful place to stay. A responsible person, aged at least 16 years, must accompany all children under the age of sixteen into the swimming pools.

Bien dommage que l’hôtel soit ainsi à l’abandon vs le prix qu’on paye pour une nuitée… Les chambres sont à refaire en toute urgence. Mauvaise isolation, système de climatisation nul, moquette qui sent le tabac froid et taché. Le service est très bien, le restaurant pour manger des plats traditionnels algérien est pas mal aussi. Je remercie vivement la cuisinière du petit déjeuner qui prépare d’excellent msemen.
