オムスクはシベリアのオムスク州の州都であり、西シベリア、ロシアのアルタイ山脈、およびカザフスタン北部の地域ハブです。この都市は、ウラル山脈に次ぐロシアで2番目に大きな都市です。オムスクは1627年に刑務所として設立され、18世紀の初めに要塞になりました。残念ながら、オムスクの多くの歴史的建造物はソビエト時代に破壊されました。古い歴史から残っている数少ない建築記念碑の1つは、オムスク要塞へのトボリスク門です。オムスクの正教会とカトリック寺院は基本的に新しく建設されました。保存されている数少ないものの1つは、1833年に設立されたニコライチュドボレット（聖ニコラスワンダーワーカー）陸軍大聖堂です。プチチヤガヴァン（鳥の港）と呼ばれるオムスク自然保護区は、市の境界内で唯一の保護区であると考えられています。公園の面積は109ヘクタールです。それを作成する主な目的は、鳥の個体数の保護です。ここでは、街の喧騒にもかかわらず、野生のアジサシ、ハゲのオオバン、その他40種の鳥が簡単に生息しています。
