Centrally located in Thimphu. Felt genuinely Bhutanese. Well appointed. Staff were so helpful, and friendly.

Its location in downtown would be of value to tourists. The staff are well mannered and helpful. The restaurant is multi cuisine. However, this hotel is not good for business travelers. Their Internet service is poor. Their internet access log in screen does not appear always. One has to manually access the log in screen by typing the IP address. Their system logs you out frequently. So you have to log in again and again. Often the system will give a message saying your internet limit is utilised. No such limit is specified to your in advance. When you call the reception, they will offer to reset so that you can continue browsing. You have to log in again after they reset. It was very frustrating for me. The hotel does not have any private space to park a vehicle. The open space visible on the foreground is the municipalities public space around clock tower. So if you rent a car or a friend visits you, then they have to pay 10Nu/half hour towards parking.

Great hotel in a wonderful location

Beautiful rooms with all amenities. The entrance might look small, but the hotel rooms are very well maintained. Large, spacious rooms with excellent bathrooms. Great value for money too.

Thimphu, Bhoutan

Thimphu est la capitale et la plus grande ville du Bhoutan. Elle est située dans la partie centrale ouest du Bhoutan, et la vallée environnante est l'un des dzongkhags du Bhoutan, le district de Thimphu. L'ancienne capitale Punakha a été remplacée par Thimphu en 1955, et en 1961 Thimphu a été déclarée capitale du Royaume du Bhoutan par le 3ème Druk Gyalpo Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. La ville s'étend du nord au sud sur la rive ouest de la vallée formée par la rivière Raidāk, qui est connue sous le nom de Wang Chuu ou Thimphu Chuu au Bhoutan. Thimphu est la quatrième capitale la plus haute du monde en altitude. Fait inhabituel pour une capitale, Thimphu n'a pas son propre aéroport, mais dépend de l'aéroport de Paro relié par la route à environ 54 kilomètres de distance. Le tourisme, bien qu'il contribue à l'économie, est strictement réglementé, maintenant un équilibre entre le traditionnel, le développement et la modernisation. Thimphu abrite la plupart des bâtiments politiques importants du Bhoutan, y compris l'Assemblée nationale de la démocratie parlementaire nouvellement formée et le palais Dechencholing, résidence officielle du Roi, situé au nord de la ville. La culture du Bhoutan est pleinement reflétée à Thimphu dans la littérature, la religion, les coutumes, et le code vestimentaire national, les pratiques monastiques des monastères, la musique, la danse, et dans les médias. Le Tshechu est un festival important où des danses masquées, communément appelées danses Cham, sont réalisées dans les cours du Tashichho Dzong à Thimphu. C'est un festival de quatre jours qui a lieu chaque année en septembre ou octobre.
