Hangzhou is the capital of Zhejiang Province and is one of China's leading tourist destinations. Being famed for its lake, Hangzhou receives tens of millions of tourists a year and modern influences also abound, but it remains very much Chinese, where a slower pace of life is valued. The sweeping and expansive West Lake is Hangzhou's most famous scenic sight. You can take a cruise to explore all the sites around the lake. Some of the most important site are the Lesser Yingzhou Isle, the Mid-Lake Pavilion, Lord Ruan's Mound and the romantic Broken Bridge. Hangzhou is one of China's most famous tea-growing centers and tours can be made to nearby Longjing Village. A modern, affluent city, in touch with its historical side, Hangzhou is one of the country’s most pleasant cities to linger in.
