In the center of New Kiruna, next to the town hall, you'll find the city's most exciting new building. Inspired by Kebnekaise and The Lapponian Gate Scandic Kiruna is the city's new hangout spot. The wilderness meets the city and will become a natural hot spot for both locals and hotel guests. At Scandic Kiruna you'll have a good night's sleep after a long day of exploring. Our 231 rooms are decorated in calm, Nordic colors such as beige and warm rust red tones. The rooms have large glass windows and smart details, suitable for both long and short stays. In our comfortable beds you can relax and fill up on energy for next day's meetings or for new adventures in the great outdoors. The interior design is inspired by the surrounding nature and seasons and with details from the hiking and climbing world. Have a seat in the lobby bar for a few hours of work or enjoy a cup of coffee by the campfire. Maybe the hikers next to you will tell you some breathtaking stories from today's adventures, or you'll start chatting with the group of miners at the bar celebrating the end of their shift. The restaurant is located on the entrance floor. It's reminiscent of a modern climbers base camp and offers delicious and well-cooked food based on local ingredients. Sustainability is a theme throughout the building and applies to food and beverage as well. From the base camp, the hike continues up to the top, to Kiruna's one and only, magnificent sky bar. Take the stairs or the elevator and be greeted by the view over the Swedish mountains. Lean back and admire the beautiful nature, the modern city, and with a little bit of luck you can catch the magical northern lights. Kiruna's sights such as skiing, hiking, shopping and visiting mines are on your doorstep. Take the opportunity to snowmobile around Jukkasjärvi and visit a Sámi farm or go see the famous Icehotel. Rüdiger

Die Fenster lassen sich nicht öffnen und die Klimaanlage lässt sich nicht regulieren, dadurch ist es stickig in den Zimmern. Dem Personal ist das Problem bekannt können aber nichts daran ändern. Der Parkplatz auf der anderen Straßenseite ist im Winter sehr glatt, ein Zugang vom Fußweg gibt es nicht. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Wonderful stay. Clean, comfortable room. Restaurant was great. We particularly loved the sauna overlooking the city. Parking was a little hard to figure out - it's across the street, but takes a little to figure out. Also seems like too much light pollution in the immediate area to see the northern lights. Overall pleasant stay.

Wonderful hotel with high quality services and amenities. - Sleek decor and comfortable lobby lounge, restaurant and rooftop skybar - Good food in the restaurant though slightly limited vegetarian/pescetarian options for lunch and dinner - Great room/bathroom amenities, no cupboard space but reasonable hanging space and good sized room make up for this - Great gym with full set of cardio and weight training equipment (kettlebells, dumbbells, mats etc) - Awesome sauna that is easily accessible with fantastic city views - Friendly and professional staff, helpful at all points during our stay - Snacks and amenities on sale at reception, also free coffee behind the reception desk - Live aurora forecast at reception with real time meteorological data - Tour agency, restaurants, library, cinema, museum just around the corner, bus stop across the street and small shopping centre within 5 minute walk Highly recommended, feels like a 5 star hotel
