Some blocks north of Plaza Bolívar is the Panteón Nacional, the resting place of the Liberator of Venezuela, Simón Bolívar. La Casa Natal de Simon Bolivar, Bolivar's birthplace, is another major attraction located in the historic center. Along the northern side of Caracas is the mountain range Cordillera de Ávila. Here there is a national park with many hiking trails and a great diversity of wildlife.Caracas is located amidst of a spectacular setting and it is a fascinating city replete with excellent art, food and a bustling nightlife. It is also a perfect base from where to explore the beauty, the wilderness and the secrets of Venezuela.
